OBSCURE PLANT CLUB || Your Window to Wondrous Whimsical Plants

If you are looking to bring home a piece of nature that is unique, creative, and inspiring, Tula is your go-to place.

Tula’s flagship store located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, is a 100-year warehouse that has been transformed with inspiration from a Cuban home and courtyard. Colourful cement tiles, rich vivid colours, and an abundance of tropical plants found in desert regions whisk you away to a tropical escape once you set foot through the door.

Tula has just launched a series of design exhibitions to highlight human-made objects that address the natural world. DFALT, which stands for Design For All Living Things, is presenting its first show as a part of the DFALT series: Obscure Plant Club.

Organic hand-made ceramics by Yuko Nishikawa

OBSCURE PLANT CLUB

The first exhibition of the series is a collaboration between Tula and Yuko Nishikawa and is where tinkerers, explorers will be inspired to add the wondrous pieces from this one of a kind collection to their home. Yuko is “known for fantastical lighting, whimsical decor accessories, and collectible objet d'art”, and the collection’s designs remind us of captivating illustrations we have seen in picture books and comics, bridging reality and fantasy.

Unique and wonderful plants have been carefully paired with wall-hung and tabletop ceramic planters that play on forms borrowed from scientific apparatus like beakers and specimen jars.

The exhibition takes place between February 3rd to 28th and is your chance to bring home the organic hand-made ceramics with pre-planted arrangements available for purchase only at Tula.
