THREE LANGUAGES OF COMFORT || Redefining Seating Through Craft, Character, and Quiet Confidence

There are many ways to sit, but only a few ways to inhabit a chair so deeply that it becomes part of your daily rituals.
With their latest trio of designs, Cierre1972 invites us to explore three distinct languages of comfort—each speaking softly yet profoundly in the spaces they occupy.
CATARINA BY BERNHARDT&VELLA
Catarina, conceived by Bernhardt&Vella, is tradition reimagined. Its curved backrest and wooden seat, crossed with interwoven elastic straps, form an embrace that feels both intimate and discreet. Upholstered in warm leather finishes like Soffio, Setanil, or Natural Velour, Catarina doesn’t seek the spotlight but inevitably captures it through its quiet elegance and tailored structure. Even the tone-on-tone lacquered edges reveal the studio’s unwavering commitment to proportion and detail.
KNIGHT BY EMILIO NANNI
Knight, designed by Emilio Nanni, converses in a language of sculptural minimalism. Rigorous yet never rigid, its metal and polyurethane structure exudes silent authority. The design strikes a balance between architectural tension and refined softness, offering essentiality without sterility. Its leather upholstery with cuoio effect finish and precisely calibrated comfort proves that restraint, when mastered, becomes a powerful design gesture.
DONALD BY MARCO FUMAGALLI
Donald, by Marco Fumagalli, speaks of fluid balance. Its taut lines and softened volumes bridge opposing forces with a distinctive ease. Wrapped in leather belts with confident elegance, supported by a hidden metal and elastic strap frame, and finished in solid wood, Donald reveals comfort as an evolving dialogue between strength and gentleness.
Together, these chairs redefine what it means to design with awareness. They are carefully crafted expressions of style and material integrity, with an enduring sensibility that celebrates life’s small yet significant moments with elegance.
