WEIGHTLESS HOUSE || Nature Meets Luxury: Inside the Award-Winning Weightless House in Repino

Nestled in the Leningrad region of Repino, the Weightless House by Kerimov Architects redefines luxury living with its 1000 sq. m of meticulously designed space.

Awarded the prestigious A’Design Award & Competition, this home is a shining example of architectural ingenuity and aesthetic finesse. Its design philosophy centers around creating a strong relationship between architecture and nature, where the house practically dissolves into the surrounding landscape. The architects' commitment to preserving existing trees, allowing some to pierce through the canopies, further underscores this ethos, crafting a unique rhythm that beckons nature into every crevice of the home.

The home is designed with the ultimate respect for the existing landscape, allowing trees to pierce through the canopy.

At the heart of the Weightless House lies the living room, conceptualized as the "main square" from which all other rooms unfold. This central space not only serves as a physical hub but also as the spiritual core of the house, promoting a sense of community and openness. The layout includes a kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms for inhabitants and guests, children’s rooms, a changing room, and a luxurious SPA area with a swimming pool, hammam, and sauna. A home office and a lounge zone cater to the modern dweller's needs, blending functionality with serenity.

A distinguishing feature of the Weightless House is its embrace of the outdoors. Each room, including the SPA, master bedroom, and children’s rooms, opens onto individual terraces, inviting the landscape in. The central outdoor lounge, complete with a fireplace and summer kitchen, lacks a canopy, promoting unobstructed communion with nature.

The central lounge from which the rest of the house unfolds is the perfect spot for star gazing.

The choice of materials—stone, wood, and metal—resonates with the local environment, aging gracefully to merge the architecture with its natural surroundings. This decision highlights the architects' dedication to sustainability and creating a living space that evolves over time.

Under the visionary guidance of Shamsudin Kerimov and Ekaterina Kudinova, Kerimov Architects has been redefining interior spaces since 2014 with a unique principle: each place should have its own architecture. This philosophy extends deeply into their approach to interior design, where the essence of the space is captured through meticulous detail, innovative use of materials, and a profound connection with the natural environment. The Weightless House demonstrates how interior design can transcend mere aesthetics to evoke a sense of place, harmony, and timeless beauty.
