SEASONS IN THE PARK || A Delightful Dining Experience Combining The Best of Vancouver Views and Summer Flavours

We were embraced by the sweet scents of late Spring welcomed us as we stepped onto the patio.

You can smell the earthy firewood burning in the fireplace and the soft and delicate spring flowers surrounding the restaurant. Set at the top of a gentle hill in the 130-acre Queen Elizabeth Park, a visit to Seasons in the Park is most certainly a treat for both your palate and your soul. If you manage to secure a seat on the patio, the breathtaking panoramic views already make it worth the trip. It gives you a coveted front-row seat to the setting summer sun over downtown Vancouver. As we settled in at our table, we played a game of naming the soaring downtown skyscrapers dotting the landscape.

We began our dining experience with refreshing cocktails from the new summer lineup, which includes a Grapefruit Aperol Spritz with grapefruit liqueur, Aperol, fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice and Prosecco, and a Botanist Gin Negroni featuring Botanist gin, Lillet, vermouth and garnished with an orange twist. The Aperol spritz is the perfect tangy, fruity beverage to kickstart your taste buds, while the Negroni is ideal for sipping as you sink into your seat by the cozy fireplace.

For our meal, we made a point to try both the latest additions to the menu and classics from the wood-fired grill.

For appetizers, we would recommend the all-new slow-roasted Barbecue Ribs and Mussels Provençal. The Barbecue Ribs are fall off the bone tender and packed with flavour in every bite. The Mussels Provençal would’ve been even better if the dish was served with bread for dipping — you would not want to waste the delicious broth.

For our entrées, we opted for one new summer menu dish and another from the wood-fired grill, the Grilled Ocean Wise Halibut and the Grass-fed Rack of Lamb.

The halibut is served with roasted parmesan potatoes, market vegetables and lemon beurre blanc. The flavour is delicate and light, great for those who want to enjoy a light and healthy meal with tasty vegetables.

The grass-fed rack of lamb is the ideal choice for carnivores who enjoy red meat. It’s simply perfect medium rare, on a bed of buttery mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and cabernet demi-glace. A dash of truffle oil makes the dish even more aromatic. Even after sharing 3 appetizers between the 2 of us, we still managed to devour the entire plate — mashed potatoes and all.

We made room in our stomachs to savour the desserts on the menu as well, such as the house-baked cheesecake with a fresh strawberry compote, and the Butterscotch Pot de Crème. While the cheesecake was scrumptious and delightful, we actually preferred the lighter whipped texture of the pot de crème.

Our favourites from the new summer lineup would have to be the Botanist Negroni from the cocktail list and the Barbecue Ribs. We would also most certainly return to savour more items from the wood-fired grill.

Whether it’s for a special occasion dinner or even a happy hour outing with friends, Seasons in the Park provides a stunning setting with panoramic views whether you are seated indoors or outdoor. We recommend requesting a seat by the window to elevate your dining experience. Enjoy a spectacular dinner outing in a beautiful natural setting and indulge in the new summer flavours at Seasons in the Park.
