WHITEWOOD COFFEE || Earl Grey Waffles and Strawberry Lattes
The weekend presents an apt opportunity to relax on a patio with an iced strawberry latte and tasty waffles.
We’ve discovered a new patio cafe where you can spend an afternoon. Located at the corner of Oaks Street and 16th Avenue in Vancouver, Whitewood Coffee features a minimalist design with light wooden furnishings set against pure white walls. A garage door opens onto the patio where guests can enjoy the early fall breeze.

Overcast skies made it comfortable to sit outside, and we opted for both hot and cold beverage options to try classic and innovative flavours. If you are a matcha lover, you will enjoy the Uji Matcha Latte. The bonus would be the lovely latte art created by the staff. Each sip serves up an abundance of matcha flavour, with a generous topping of foam.

If you are looking to try a creative flavour, the Iced Strawberry Latte blends strawberries with creamy milk for a refreshing pick me up. We would recommend pairing your drink with one of the cafe’s homemade Belgian Liege waffles. Earl grey is always our go-to flavour for waffles, but there are plenty of other choices such as strawberry, matcha, sugary churro and more. The texture is firm and chewy, and the flavour is not too sweet, making it the perfect snack.
Iced Strawberry Latte
We enjoyed watching the cars drive by on the patio, as the patio faces the meandering 16th avenue. An insider tip here would be to visit on a cooler day in the fall, as the cafe doesn’t seem to have air conditioning. This is why we sat out on the patio where there was a slight breeze to keep us cool.
