FLASK COFFEE || This Laboratory-Style Coffee Shop in Kyrgyzstan is Housed in a Shipping Container

The project was conceptualized and commissioned by artist and coffee enthusiast Chihoon.

The unassuming white exterior bears a simple logo for the coffee shop. The crisp, white interior is designed in a minimalist, almost laboratory style. The design was inspired by South Korean contemporary design.

The main area of the coffee shop is housed in a shipping container structure. It is connected to the glass 'greenhouse' terrace via stained glass doors and circular windows. The main area of the cafe features a straightforward concept: a minimalistic bar with a stainless steel surface is complemented by modular sculptural tables and stools which can be assembled like a construction set.

The terrace is more relaxed, with two cozy padded seating areas lining the windows.

Initially a snow-white project, the design is complemented by the recognizable pattern artwork by the American artist Vargas-Suarez Universal. The artist’s composition of black lines was applied to various surfaces throughout the cafe.

Guests visiting the cafe could experience two contrasting environments: the main shipping container interior with its minimalist design and clean lines, or the intimate, sunlit terrace with cushioned seating where one could lean against the warm glass walls.

The simple all-white exterior surrounded by greenery offers a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup of coffee.

The walls feature artwork by American artist Vargas-Suarez Universal.

The circular tables are designed to be easy to clean up. The semi-circle stools can be hidden in the empty nook of the table.

A large circular window offers a connection between the two sections of the cafe.
