THE TEAHOUSE IN STANLEY PARK || The Perfect Spot for a Romantic Holiday Dinner

A visit to The Teahouse in Stanley Park is a rewarding adventure.

Located within the iconic 405-hectare public park, The Teahouse in Stanley Park is nestled at a location by the water. After carefully navigating the pitch-black winding road following the natural curves of the park, a small entrance off the main road reveals the cozy teahouse decorated with hundreds of twinkling lights — arriving upon the teahouse in the park in the evening is akin to chancing upon a treasure on an adventure.

Beautiful festive fireplace in the dining room

The teahouse has all the traditional and inviting elements one would expect, a beautiful drawing room facing the water, a traditional tea room where guests can enjoy both lunch and dinner, and even a blazing fireplace beautifully decorated with festive lights to keep you cozy as you enjoy the sweeping water views from the panoramic windows of the dining room.

We settled in next to the fireplace in a corner of the dining room, the twinkling lights across the water making for a stunning backdrop against the dark night. We wanted to try as much as we could on the dinner menu, and so opted for the Prix Fixe Menu as well as several signature items off the regular dinner menu. The Prix Fixe Menu is an extraordinary deal, where you could enjoy a three-course meal for just $49 per person; in a stunning location such as The Teahouse in Stanley Park, just the view is worth this investment!

Our waiter attentively explained each of the restaurant’s signature items and recommended the Teahouse Mushrooms, Duck Confit, and Chocolate Milano Cake.

Teahouse Mushrooms are a scrumptious start to your meal

Duck Confit lit by a single ray of candle light

The Chocolate Milano Cake is a light mousse texture

The Teahouse Mushrooms are perfect for those who love a creamy, scrumptious starter to their meal. Stuffed with crab, shrimp, and cream cheese, the warm and creamy medley of flavours is THE comfort food you didn’t know you needed.

The Duck Confit served with red wine jus is expertly prepared, with the duck being extremely tender but still retaining muscles of the thigh so the meat is still firm and bouncy with each bite. The skin is crispy and flavourful, if you want a concentrated burst of flavour then we recommend eating the skin itself separately from the meat.

The Chocolate Milano Cake is wonderfully light as an elegant endnote to our meal; instead of offering a heavy and dense cake to follow the hearty entrées, the Prix Fixe Menu considers the balance of the three-course meal and the light chocolate mascarpone mousse cake with an almond wafer crust presents a thoughtful option.

Caesar Salad (this portion was split in 2 for us) topped with a housemade parmesan crisp

Miso Marinated Sablefish

Other signature items we recommend would be the Caesar Salad, for its housemade crispy parmesan crisp, and you mustn’t leave without having the Miso Marinated Sablefish, sitting atop a bed of creamy black rice, topped with daikon and served with a yuzu champagne vinaigrette; the citrus cuts through the decadent oils of the fish, again presently a scrumptious dish where the flavours achieve a balance for the palate.

If you are looking for a spot to enjoy a festive dinner, you don’t need to look any further than The Teahouse in Stanley Park for the perfect holiday setting and cozy ambiance. Visit the website to view the full menu and reserve your holiday outing (or at-home dining experience) today.
