GLOWBAL RESTAURANT || A Cozy 'Winterlicious' Dining Experience

Glowbal Restaurant’s Winterlicious menu is the winter dine-out affair you have been waiting for.

This 4-course menu is available now until January 24th, and only costs $38 per person. It’s a great value if you are looking for a cozy dining experience to escape the confines of your home.

As we settled in at our table by the fireplace, we ordered a re-invented classic from the cocktail menu — the Fashionably Old made with Woodford bourbon, Grand Marnier, vanilla-infused brown sugar syrup, old fashion bitters, and finished with orange peel zest.

The cocktail’s creation process also offers a unique experience, as a cocktail cart is wheeled to your table and the bartender makes the cocktail at your table. The cocktail features an ice cube stamped with the Glowbal “G” and then is placed into a device where it is smoked to infuse it with extra flavour.

The ‘Fashionably Old’ Cocktail

After we warmed out from the winter cold with the first few sips of our cocktails, it was time to begin our meal with the amuse-bouche, a creamy and aromatic Wild Mushroom Soup with truffle oil — a great first course to warm up the body.

Following the soup, you could choose from one of three appetizers, the Beet & Goat Cheese Terrine with a beet vinaigrette, shaved fennel, and fresh horseradish. With the heavier aroma of the goat cheese, the accompanying greens for the dish are lighter and feature more citrus notes.

Of the three different kinds of cheese featured in the 3 appetizer options, our favorites were the Winter Green Salad with torched burrata, and the Cheese Fritters and Shaved Proscuitto with arugula and juicy roasted tomatoes. We love the creamy texture and light flavor of burrata, and who wouldn’t love deep-fried cheese?

The cheese fritters paired with thinly-sliced, crispy shaved prosciutto offer bold, savory flavors. The Winter Salad would be the opposite with a lighter cheese and sweet yet tangy pomegranate vinaigrette.

For your entrées you can choose from the Braised Beef Cheek Cannelloni, Gnocchi & Winter Squash, or Mediterranean Sea Bass — there’s an option for you whether you prefer meat, seafood or simple, tasty pasta.

Having tasted all 3 options, we recommend the Braised Beef Cheek Cannelloni because the combination of the outer shell paired with the soft braised beef cheek presents a balanced flavour and texture. The Cannelloni sits on top of a wild mushroom ragout, and we loved the medley of mushrooms with a slightly tart flavour, which cuts through the heavier flavours of the meat.

The Apple Galette is the perfect wintry dessert to enjoy whilst sitting by the fireplace. The creamy vanilla gelato melts into the warm pastry, which houses softened apple slices within; crunchy toasted almonds on the side provide added texture to every bite.
