The dining space boasts 2 floors of spacious dining, with various dining areas separated out to accommodate different occasions. Choose the patio if you enjoy cozy, open fireplaces and the unique birdcage design of their plush seating booths, or the elongated bar on the first floor if you enjoy watching the process as your food is prepared in the open kitchen. There is also a lounge area and private dining room enclosed with glass on the first floor.

The second floor features the restaurant’s expansive wine collection in glass displays and offers intimate dining seating with dimmed lighting and tables for two with comfortable armchairs.

If you are looking for ice-cold, refreshing spritzers, you can select from 5 different options ranging from sweeter taste profiles like the Elderflower Spritz with elderflower syrup, prosecco soda topped with fresh mint, to citrus flavours like the Glowbal G&T with bombay east, grapefruit juice, bitters and thyme.

Or if you lean towards wine-based cocktails, the White and Red Sangria are tasty sippers as well. The White Sangria is made with peach schnapps, orange juice, apple juice, white wine and topped with juicy, seasonal fruits. The Red Sangria is created with triple sec, orange juice, pineapple juice, red wine and finished with berries and a slice of grapefruit. Did we mention it’s also perfect for a photo op with its beautiful duotone colour?

Red Sangria

A sip of the Red Sangria whisks us away to memories of our European travels, where one would pass the afternoon with sangria and tapas shared amongst friends. Food and drink have that magical ability to bring back cherished memories, and sangria always reminds us of patio drinks, fun conversation and time well spent.

If you want to explore other adventurous cocktail creations, Bar Manager Martin Kovalcik can recommend and create tasty and innovative drinks within minutes. The cocktail infused with lavender syrup pictured below would be a treat for those who enjoy cocktails on the sweeter side. The mesmerizing gradation pink hues also make for a great photo.

Another insider tip is to ask Martin for the Empress Martini, not only because it is a tasty cocktail made with Empress Gin and Chamomile syrup, but because it comes topped with a whimsical edible bubble in rosemary smoke flavour, which pops and disperses an elegant smoke trail. Regardless of how old we are, we are all still captivated by bubbles.

An expansive menu ranging from salads and tuna poké to truffled spaghetti meatballs and seafood paella ensures you have delightful food pairings for every drink on the menu.

We especially enjoyed the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with its mustard relish and dijon horseradish aioli, which gave the buttery, thinly-sliced wagyu beef an extra kick. The aromatic garlic herb loaves will make your mouth water as the plate makes its way to your table.

For those who enjoy a hearty dish, the Tiger Prawn and Scallop Pappardelle with asparagus, roasted gem tomatoes, and lemon cream is your go-to, with generous bites of fresh, crispy prawns and thick strands of pappardelle drizzled in lemon cream.

For those who would rather enjoy a seafood dish, there are a variety of choices from salmon to halibut and sablefish. We opted for the Pan Roasted Halibut served with house-made gnocchi brown butter foam; the halibut cuts with a fork for scrumptious bites topped with brown butter foam. The gnocchi is soft and fluffy and the gem tomatoes burst with tasty juices to balance out the dish’s flavour.

Finish your meal with the decadent chocolate brownie dessert topped with ice cream and chocolate cracker bits. The chocolate brownie is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, a scoop of the ice cream and crispy chocolate bits with a bite of the brownie is the perfect end note for your meal.

Glowbal Restaurant’s new summer cocktail menu gives us all the more reason to visit to taste all the delicious concoctions from the bar. If you are craving delicious cocktails make sure to stop by their patio centrally located in downtown.
