HOME COOKING RECIPE || Easy 10 Minute Bean Hash to Boost Your Body's Defence

Delicious, nourishing food doesn't need to be fussy.

Bean hash is one of those dishes that tastes incredible, has high nutritional values, and can come together with minimal effort. Serve it with a side of fresh greens, a slice of bread and some pickles, and you’ll have a full meal ready in no time.

FLOURIST’S EASY 10 MINUTE BEAN HASH

You can make this meal with any cooked beans you have on hand or Flourist’s Navy Beans which are grown by H&M Farms in Altona, Manitoba. The beans are high in protein and fibre and are perfect for use in soups, salads, and bean dips. You can learn more about Navy Beans, how to cook and store them here.

Note: This recipe serves 1 for a full meal or 2 as a side. 

Ingredients

1/2 medium onion (red, yellow, or white)
2 carrots, peeled and chopped 
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup cooked Flourist Navy Beans (or any cooked bean)
1/4 cup fresh parsley 
Salt and black pepper to taste 

Instructions

  1. To cook, heat a sauté pan or wok to medium heat and add the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3 minutes or until the onion starts to sweat. Add the carrots and cook for 3-4 more minutes. 

  2. Add the cooked beans, parsley,  salt, and black pepper and cook until hot, a further 2-3 minutes. Serve hot with a side of fresh greens, feta, toast, and olives.
