THE ART OF CONVIVIALITY || A Colourful Home that Celebrates Connection and Everyday Rituals

It starts, as most good stories do, in the kitchen—with a couple, a bottle of wine, and a vision of how life should feel.
Convivio 2.0 by Andrea Dal Negro is more than an apartment in Bolzano; it is a portrait of warmth and connection, where architecture becomes the language of affection. Designed for a young couple who see home as an act of sharing, this space turns daily life into a celebration of togetherness.
Its name, Convivio, recalls Dante’s idea of shared wisdom and collective joy. For the homeowners, who once studied his work with the architect in high school, it represents a lifelong friendship built on dialogue and discovery. The kitchen, once simply a place to cook, now stands as the heart of their story, a living stage where conversations stretch late into the evening, and design becomes a reflection of life’s small rituals.
The copper hood becomes the sculptural centrepiece of the kitchen, complemented by cabinetry in sage and beige tones. The curved ceiling mirrors the island’s form while concealing lighting and ventilation systems.
“The previous layout considered spaces as single and individual: the design choice was guided by uniting these spaces into a single dynamic and multifunctional environment that followed the clients’ rhythms.”
The copper hood glows like a hearth, its warmth spreading across cabinetry in sage green and soft beige. Above it, a curved ceiling element mirrors the kitchen island, concealing light and air systems with effortless grace. Every contour is considered, yet the space feels natural and alive, shaped by the rhythm of the people who inhabit it.
Step onto the oak herringbone parquet by Woodco, and the home begins to reveal its character. The natural grain runs diagonally, creating a sense of movement and visual flow that unites each room. Even in the smallest corner, intention meets emotion. The compact guest bath, wrapped in red terrazzo tiles from Italgraniti and 41zero42, becomes a jewel box of colour and confidence. In less than three square meters, Dal Negro turns practicality into poetry.
Fluid transitions between the kitchen and living areas encourage social connection. (Table by Ingenia, sofa by Ditre Italia.)
“Every space designed by Andrea makes us feel at home. The colors highlight our personalities and the environments
allow us to perceive ourselves deeply within this common project.”
Red terrazzo tiles from Italgraniti and 41zero42 create an immersive, jewel-like atmosphere in a compact 3 m² layout.
Throughout the apartment, colour serves as both expression and emotion. In the master suite, shades of green echo the surrounding vineyards, while light terrazzo tiles add texture and calm. Fixtures by Gessi and a Flou bed lend quiet refinement without interrupting the honesty of the space. It is a home that feels deeply human; elegant but never distant, refined yet full of heart.
Soft green and terrazzo tones define the bedroom and ensuite.
Every detail speaks of life shared. Lighting from Artemide and Ferm Living softens the transitions between spaces, while furnishings by Ditre Italia and Ingenia anchor the sense of comfort and ease. Nothing is forced, and nothing tries too hard to impress. Instead, Convivio 2.0 celebrates the kind of beauty that grows from real connection: the laughter, the chaos, and the quiet in between.
In a world where design can often feel detached, Dal Negro reminds us that the most memorable homes are the ones that reflect who we are. Convivio 2.0 is not simply a renovation; it is a home that breathes, gathers, and gives back, a living expression of the Italian art of togetherness.
Whereas the social spaces use colourful accents and shapes to encourage interaction and conversation, the bedroom uses hues and materials that induce a quiet calm.
