LOUNY MUNICIPAL SWIMMING HALL || This Design-Savvy Hall Brings The Best Of Swimming Opportunities and Interior Design

From sleek European architecture to a minimalist, spa-like ambiance, the dynamically-shaped Louny Municipal Swimming Hall has everything that will make you want to jump right in and float the day away.

The facade of Louny Municipal is made from rippling glass and black aluminum Alubond, opening up into a small park. This gives swimmers stunning vistas of the outdoors (replicating the feeling of swimming in an outdoor area), and simultaneously, it gives passersby a clear view of the interior of the space.

The angled roof and the rippling glass facade invites passerby to look in.

This encourages local residents to indulge in water sports and, as a result, promote their physical health. The slanted roof of the building ensures the inner height of the building remains constant, even if the ground below has a natural slope.

Stepping inside, the interior of the swimming hall features a stainless steel pool filled with clear water, ideal for taking a swim. The overall colour palette is warm and neutral, with stark white complementing woodsy tones. The larch timber wood panels overhead add a touch of warmth to the otherwise sleek and contemporary space — the secret to the inviting ambiance!

Sunlight streaming in to the pool connects the indoors with the outdoor view.

The ceiling-mounted light fixtures appear as if rods are glistening overhead. They provide functionality by illuminating the space and simultaneously adding to the aesthetics. Exploring the rest of the building offers a sense of the generous layout; the hall covers a good floor space of 3120 square meters.

Moving to the side opposite the rippling glass facade, there is a pool bar, showers, and a sauna world, which fit into the standard clearance height on the north side of the building. The changing room's ceramic tiles and vinyl floor are an ideal choice for the swimming hall, owing to their resilience and durability.

The cooling terrace is located on the coldest side of the building with a view over the Bohemian Central Mountains.

The sauna is tucked into the north side of the building.

Towards the west side of the building, there is an outdoor whirlpool and a waterslide with a staircase tower, making the sports activities of Louny Municipal all the more tempting. With the display of these water features — and the interior of the swimming hall — Louny Municipal aims to break down prejudices about the sports environment and welcome anyone passing by to become physically fit by regularly swimming.

Together, the impeccable interior design details, Eastern European architecture, and high-quality swimming pool make Louny Municipal one of the best areas to indulge in this sport in the locality of Louny.

A running track wraps around the building, encouraging residents to engage in a sports-oriented lifestyle.
